Sydney the waitress was amazing. Seriously if you’re riding the BDR and don’t eat here, you’re missing out. I had the sirloin and the mushrooms were amazing!

The Montanan is my go to restaurant for lunch, dinner or just tasty homemade dessert!

The service is always great, the atmosphere always cozy, and the food never disappoints. It feels like my home away from home! They rotate the menu a few times a year, bringing in new exciting dishes, and they are constantly making fresh nightly specials. Do yourself a favor and try the wonton wrapped brie!

We were all super impressed and pleasantly surprised! I had the sirloin steak and it exceeded my expectations. It was cooked perfectly and the smoked gouda augratin potatoes were amazing.

what's happening at The montanan Steakhouse

As some of you may know and some of you may not, I was fortunate enough to be the chef here at The Montanan Steakhouse when it started back in 2009. I had the privilege of working with Barbara (Garland) Solvie. I was young and early in my career and thought I knew it all. Barbara put up with me all while sculpting me into the person I was to become. Whether she realized she was doing that or not, I do not know. Up to that point, I had worked with primarily men in kitchens and restaurants and my attitude reflected that. Working with Barbara made me realize I could be softer & more caring yet still a force to be reckoned with. Barbara was the PERFECT hostess! She made every guest feel as if they were taking a seat at her table in her home....which they were. Her chuckle filled the dining room and her stories entertained the crowds. She was unapologetically BARBARA and we all loved her for that. Laughing, singing and working hard were staples among our team. She was an amazing leader and a beloved friend. I left Montana for a while and when I came back I ran into her here at the restaurant while eating dinner....she reached across the booth and asked if I wanted to buy the restaurant. At the time, the thought of me doing something this big was so far fetched. My biggest concern is that it wouldn't meet her expectations. Turns out, I am so happy that I did. The entire Garland family has been an amazing part of my life for a long time. I am grateful to Barbara and her family for the guidance, support and friendships they have all provided to me over the years. I loved Barbara and still do. Join the Garland family in a beautiful celebration (fit for the queen) of Barbara this Saturday at the Lincoln Community Hall at 1PM. Let's raise a glass to Barb! 🥂
